One Year House Anniversary: House Tour

22 gallons of paint!!!  That's how much paint we used just on the inside of the house.  The secret is out...I'm in love with paint.

Let's take a time machine back a year ago...because there really is no better way to travel.  There has been LOTS of changes in the past year.  I will give you a quick look at all the before and after (progress) pictures and later will be blogging about the details of each room.

If you never heard the story about how we found and eventually got this house, it is pretty amazing.  God is amazing!  Around the time we put our old house on the market, I found this house on Craigslist and we went through it twice because we loved it so much.  We really liked the unique floor plan and the neighborhood, but the house needed a LOT of work!  A LOT!  The timing wasn't right with the sale of our old house and it went off the market shortly after.  I figured it wasn't meant to be, but I thought about this house ALL THE TIME...almost every day.  In my head I would plan how I would fix it up.  Well...about 8 months later I decided to drive by the house...just because...and guess what!!?  It had a "for sale" sign in the window!  I called the lady and she said she had just put the sign in the window and hadn't listed it yet.  We had an accepted offer that day with no competition from other buyers.  Amazing!  We moved in June 2013 and we couldn't have done it without help from some awesome friends and family.

Let's get to the before and afters...

3 Things I Like About Being Pregnant

The countdown is on!  Only six days till our baby boy is here!!!!  (or sooner).  I'm super excited to meet him and super excited to not be pregnant anymore.  There are only three things I like about being pregnant...no ab exercises, feeling the baby move in my tummy, and when people ask when I'm due saying, "due"???  :)

A few months ago I posted a blog where I showed you my mood board and ideas for the baby room.  Here is that blog.  And here is how the room turned out...

I found the Pottery Barn bumper on Craigslist.  I made the crib skirt from a tutorial on Pinterest.  The slipcovered chair was only $35 on Craigslist!  I made the pillow with leftover material from the crib skirt.  The mobile was mine when I was a baby and I saved it from my parents garage sale a few years ago.

The side table is from Ikea.  The ottoman and navy/white bin is from Target.  I found this cute seagull pillow cover online and framed it.

Only six (or less) days left of being pregnant!!!  Yay!

Dog Photography Part Two

Two years ago I took some photos of my friends dog.  A couple of years later this dog is as cute and fluffy as ever!

I had to brush up on some pet photography tips since it has been awhile.  With Hoth being in active puppy mode it was actually more challenging this time than when he was a baby.  Some things that I learned this time around is that it is helpful to have the "parents" standing behind me with treats...LOTS of treats!  It also helps to get some of the puppy energy out by having the parents play ball with the pup first.

Here is the last pet portrait blog.  And here are the updated pictures of Hoth and his family...

I love how they are BOTH smiling!

Such a handsome boy
