Pinterest Challenge Week 2 - Crock pot Mac + Cheese

For week two I decided to try a Pinterest recipe that I've been wanting to make for some time.  Easy Crock-pot mac + cheese has two things I love when it comes to cooking...easy and cheese.

Easy Crock-pot Mac + Cheese

Cooking oil spray
2 cups skim milk
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 cups pre-shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
flavored breadcrumbs or crushed croutons

Spray the Crock-pot with cooking oil spray.  Mix together the milk, evaporated milk, salt and pepper in the crock-pot.  Add cheese and uncooked macaroni.  Stir to mix.

Turn the Crock-pot on LOW and cook for 3-4 hours.

Note:  The original recipe called for an egg, but I opted not to use one.  I also added some flavored breadcrumbs to the mac + cheese after it was done cooking.  Here is the link to the original recipe.


  1. How did it turn out? Were the edges burned?
    Did you take any pictures of your results?

  2. Hi Christine! It was good, but I still like your recipe for Mac & cheese the best! This was a drier/firmer mac. I cooked mine for about 3 hours, so the edges weren't burned. The one great thing about this recipe is that it was super easy. You don't even have to cook the elbow mac before you put it in.
