Pinterest Challenge - Week 9: Back to Blond!

When I was in high school I decided to add highlights to my own hair.  Bad idea Lisa!  I ended up with a white skunk stripe down the middle of my head.  I had to part my hair way over on the side to cover it up.  I have since vowed never to highlight my own hair. Thankfully I now have a very talented sister-in-law, Sallie, who is a colorist at Edward Wadsworth in Portland.

After seeing these before and after pictures on Pinterest from Box No. 216 I decided it was time to go back to blond!
Before  :(
After  :)

Because I'm so bad about keeping up with my color, I thought this ombre color would be the perfect solution.

Here is what Sallie did to my hair...
Once a brunette
Now a blond
...and NO skunk stripe!  Thanks Sallie!

Dont't forget to subscribe on the right side of this page if you want to see me complete one Pinterest project every week.  Thanks!

Kimber's Baby Shower/Pinterest Challenge - Week 8: Ready to pop!

My sister Kimber is having a baby in a few weeks!  Yay!  Her neighbors decided to throw her a shower and Kammy (my other sister) and I helped bring a few things.  So for week 8 of my Pinterest challenge I found a cute idea for a "Ready to pop" shower.  I made stickers on my computer that said "ready to pop" and stuck them on microwave popcorn bags as take-home gifts.  Here is a picture of how they turned out:

Enough about Pinterest!  Here are some pictures of all the lovely ladies that came to Kimber's shower...

It wouldn't be a party without the photo booth!

Food time!

Adorable bird onesies that Kimber's neighbor made for her!

Cute diaper cake that Kimber's other neighbor made for her.  Crafty neighbors!

Pinterest Challenge - Week 7: Easy One Dish Meal

I don't like to cook.  I LOVE to eat.  Pinterest to the rescue!  There are a ton of delicious and easy to make recipes posted on Pinterest.  The other night I was in the mood for a wholesome American meat and potatoes meal.  I found this recipe from posted to Pinterest and decided to give it a try.

Easy One Dish Meal
 Fill 9x9 dish with:
- Green beans
- Chicken breast
- Potatoes
Then, chop up a 1/2 stick of butter (I would use less next time), and put over top of everything.
Add seasonings.  I used onion and garlic powder.
Bake at 350 for one hour.

Since there are only 2 1/2 people in our family I used a 9x9 dish, but if you have more simply fill up a 9x13 dish.  It was delicious and easy, the perfect combo!

Pinterest Challenge - Week 6: Lace Tree Craft

  Winter trees made with lace

Although I am SO ready for warmer weather, sadly it is still technically winter.  I figured I better blog about this craft before I am in full Spring mode!  We made these winter trees at my work a few weeks ago.  I saw this idea on Pinterest.  It originally came from

I'm an Activity Director at a intergenerational senior center and we did this craft project with four year olds and seniors.  All ages seemed to enjoy it!  I couldn't find our box with lace in it, so we used doilies instead.  I adapted the craft to the ability level of our clients by cutting out the tree shapes from construction paper first and then I had them glue all the pieces together.
